Calligraphy Workshop: Intro to Calligraphy

Join us for a Tuesday evening of learning, art, and community! Workshop instructor and artist Ellen Keim will focus on teaching the basics of calligraphy, including how to use a traditional calligraphy dip pen and ink well. Participants will spend time learning and practicing the form of each letter in the alphabet and each number.

This class is ideal for beginners! No prior calligraphy or art experience is necessary.

All workshop materials and calligraphy supplies are provided. Each participant will take home a calligraphy holder and nib, calligraphy ink, an exemplar, and a packet of info to help you continue practicing the art of calligraphy on your own.

Recommended Base Skill Level:
Beginner

16 & up

A note about the Workshop Instructor: Ellen Keim is a painter, calligrapher, and teacher with degrees in fine art and art education. She is a past president of the East Tennessee Calligraphy Guild and loves helping others discover their talents. Ellen has been a workshop instructor for The Happy Envelope for over 2 years.
